According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2010 exports of goods grew by 11% and imports declined by 3% compared to the same month of 2009. The increase in exports was mainly influenced by the steep growth in the dispatches of oil products and fuel oils.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2009 exports of goods from Estonia at current prices totalled 9.1 billion kroons and imports to Estonia amounted to 10.3 billion kroons. Compared to November 2008, total exports declined by 8% but exports of mineral products (incl. petroleum products) and of wood and products thereof increased.

In January, imports were at the lowest level of the recent years

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that the decline in the volume of retail trade turnover in November was most affected by grocery stores, as their turnover volume decreased by 4% year on year. “The turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods, however, continued to grow in November, increasing by 2% compared with the same period last year,” Pihlak noted. According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016, the exports of goods increased by 2% and imports by 3% compared to October of the previous year. Compared to October 2015, the exports of goods of Estonian origin increased by 3% and re-exports, i.e. the exportation of goods imported from a foreign country, stayed at the same level.

Last year Estonia’s exports of goods were record high

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2010 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 8.75 billion euros at current prices and imports to Estonia made up 9.27 billion euros. Last year exports of goods exceeded the highest level so far (the level of 2008) where the turnover of exports amounted to 8.47 billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2014, both the exports and imports of goods increased by 5% at current prices compared to October of the previous year. The increase in exports and imports was mostly influenced by the trade of electrical equipment and mineral products.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2012, exports of goods from Estonia decreased by 8% at current prices and imports to Estonia remained on the same level compared to May of the previous year. A small decrease in exports was also influenced by the record high basis in May of the previous year. Compared to April this year, the trade increased in May.
