According to Statistics Estonia, 37,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in May 2020. Their total number of nights spent was 83,000. The number of tourists decreased by 88% year on year.

Statistical thresholds In 2024, the statistical threshold for the dispatches of goods is 350,000 euros (last year, it was 270,000 euros). It means that, in 2024, Intrastat data have to be submitted by those enterprises whose turnover of goods dispatched to European Union countries exceeded 350,000 euros in 2023. 2017 was a record year in world tourism. More foreign tourists visited Estonia than in any of the previous years. 3.5 million domestic and foreign tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments. There were 7% more tourists in accommodation establishments than a year earlier, including 9% more domestic tourists and 5% more foreign tourists. Of those staying in accommodation establishments, by country of residence, the number of Estonian residents increased the most, and of foreign tourists, more tourists arrived from Russia and Latvia. The total number of domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in accommodation establishments set a new record already for the eighth consecutive year.

According to Statistics Estonia, 13,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in April. Their total number of nights spent was 43,000. The number of tourists decreased by 95% year on year.
General government deficit decreased significantly, the debt level is stable

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the Estonian general government deficit was 2.4% and the debt level was 18% of the gross domestic product (GDP). At the end of last year, the total expenditures of the general government exceeded revenues by 721 million euros.
