Today, Statistics Estonia presented at a press conference a comparative survey of household and place of residence data. The survey, taking place from May until October, is conducted to test the quality of the methodology of the register-based population and housing census. 30,000 persons will be surveyed.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,005 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.14 euros. Compared to 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.9% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.2%.

Albert Pullerits (1892–1967) was the first director of the Estonian State Central Bureau of Statistics and the founder and developer of official statistics in Estonia. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 887 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.34 euros. Compared to 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 5.7% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 6.0%.
