The labour force participation rate increased by 1 percentage point compared to the same quarter of the previous year and the number of inactive working-age people is on a downtrend.

According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, 1,313,271 persons lived in Estonia on 1 January 2015 – 2,666 persons (0.2%) fewer than at the same time a year earlier. Negative natural increase is the main cause for population decline, while the influence of emigration has decreased significantly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013 the production of electricity totalled 13 TWh which is nearly 11% more than previous year. The electricity production from renewable sources decreased more than 10% compared 2012.
