Epp Remmelg, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the at-risk-of-poverty rate reflects income inequality in a country. “People at risk of poverty are not living in outright deprivation, but they cannot afford the standard of living that is considered normal in society,” the analyst noted. In 2024, close to 263,200 people lived at risk of poverty, which is nearly 11,600 fewer than in 2023. “Compared with the first quarter, labour market indicators have improved, but remain below the figures for the second quarter of 2024,” said Tea Vassiljeva, analyst at Statistics Estonia. The analyst noted that while the unemployment rate in the second quarter (7.8%) was slightly higher than in last year’s second quarter (7.6%), it was 0.8 percentage points lower than in the first quarter of 2025. “The unemployment rate for men (8.4%) was higher than that for women (7.2%). There were a total of 59,200 unemployed persons in the second quarter, which is 5,000 fewer than in the previous quarter

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 1.7 billion euros, which is 27% more than the year before. Construction volumes, which had started to decline in 2008, took an upturn in 2011.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2011 the production of industrial enterprises grew 23% compared to the same period of the previous year. The growth of production was mostly influenced by manufacturing of electronic products.
