Mainly attention is paid to regions of military conflict, but the goal is to increase security everywhere. Elisa, Tele2 and Telia to analyse clients’ mobility themselves

In order to provide the crisis commission with a quick overview about whether people are complying with movement restrictions, Elisa, Tele2 and Telia decided to take it upon themselves to analyse the mobility of their clients. The data used for the analysis will be entirely anonymous and not real-time. Statistics Estonia will compile the analyses of the mobile network operators and produce an overview for the whole country. The first results are expected to be available in the coming week. The reason for the new decision is the obligation of the operators to protect personal data and ensure anonymity.
