According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 216,000 tourists, which is almost a third more than in June last year. There were more domestic tourists and fewer foreign tourists, but the total number of accommodated guests was significantly lower than in 2019 before the coronavirus crisis.

According to Statistics Estonia, the total production of industrial enterprises in 2021 was 6.4% bigger than the year before. Of the three main industrial sectors, production increased by 19.2% in energy production and by 6.4% in manufacturing but decreased by 15.7% in mining.

Data collected from registers in the 2021 census reveal that in ten years, Estonia’s population has grown, people live longer, and the number of working-age persons has fallen. According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2021, there were 10,542 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. The number increased by 30% year on year. More than 12,000 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.
