Statistics Estonia collects data about economic and social indicators to give a detailed overview of economic trends and life in Estonia. This year, Statistics Estonia will carry out over one hundred surveys involving more than 26,000 enterprises in total. Is there no other way to get these data?

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the biggest increase compared to the previous year occurred in people’s use of the internet for participating in online courses. The popularity of e-commerce also grew, with 62% of the population aged 16–74 having made online purchases. Among enterprises, the use of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management software continues to increase. Enterprises are also trying out AI technologies.

Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, said that the improvement in Estonian economy continued in the first quarter of 2025. “Compared with the first quarter of 2024, the GDP increased by 1.2%. 278,000 foreign and approximately 224,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in July. “As in July last year, we had more foreign tourists (55%) than domestic tourists (45%) accommodated in this year’s July,” said Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia.
