In November the number of tourists in accommodation establishments increased

In November 2011, 119,000 foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia. Compared to November 2010, the number of foreign tourists increased 18%. A foreign tourist stayed in an accommodation establishment for two nights on average. Most tourists came from Finland, Russia and Latvia. Compared to November 2010, the number of tourists from Ireland increased the most.

In November 2011, 65,000 domestic tourists used the services of accommodation establishments of Estonia, their number increased 2% compared to November 2010. 46% of accommodated domestic tourists were on holiday and 39% on a business trip. Most of domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Harju, Pärnu, Tartu and Ida-Viru counties.

In November, 766 accommodation establishments with 17,000 rooms and 38,000 beds were available for tourists. The room occupancy rate was 40%. Compared to November 2010, the room occupancy rate increased by two percentage points. In November, 10,000 bed-places less were available for tourists than in July, in the high season of tourism.

In November, the average cost of a guest night in an accommodation establishment was 30 euros, being 3 euros more expensive than in November 2010 and 2 euros more expensive than in October 2011. The average cost of a guest night in an accommodation establishment in Harju county was 35 euros, in Tartu county 26 euros and in Pärnu county 23 euros.
