The consumer price index has risen more slowly in the last three months
According to Statistics Estonia, in August, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with July and by 1.5% compared with August 2025. Goods were 0.9% and services 2.4% more expensive than in August last year.
HICP flash estimate: prices up by 0.3% in August
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in August 2026, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, increased by 0.3% compared with July. Compared with August last year, the HICP rose by 1.3%. This is a flash estimate which will be refined once more detailed data on August prices are received.
The economy grew by 1.8% in the second quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2026, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.8% compared with the same period of 2025. The GDP at current prices amounted to 11.1 billion euros in the second quarter.
