Industrial output down for the fifth month in a row
According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2026, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 4.6% at constant prices compared with June last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 26.7% in mining but decreased by 12.6% in energy production and by 5.3% in manufacturing.
Turnover volume of grocery stores up in June after a long decline
According to Statistics Estonia, in June, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 950 million euros. The volume of turnover increased by 1% compared with the same month of 2025.
Higher building material prices pushed up construction prices in the second quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index, which expresses the change in the cost of construction activity, rose by 3.1% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period last year and by 1.9% compared with the first quarter of this year. In the second quarter, the index was most affected by the rise in the prices of building materials.
