Commissioned by the Government of Estonia, Statistics Estonia, together with Telia, Tele2 and Elisa, are conducting mobility analysis based on anonymous data of the mobile networks. The first results show that the mobility of people has decreased as a result of the stricter restrictions introduced on 11 March and resembles that of the emergency situation period of last year.

In the third quarter, wage growth was one of the biggest in recent years

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2021, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,553 euros, which is 7.8% more than the year before. Gross wages and salaries were highest in Harju and Tartu counties, and in information and communication, financial and insurance activities and the energy sector.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross income per employee was 954 euros. Compared to 2013, the average gross income increased 6%. The growth rate has been at this level for the last few years.

In the second quarter, construction volume decreased by 8%

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2020, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 8% year on year. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the construction volume decreased by 5%.

Data-based reporting for reducing administrative burden The project Data-based reporting developed from the Zero Bureaucracy initiative. It provides a solution for the automatic exchange of data required by the state, based on the principles of simplicity and minimum burden. Data-based reporting is a joint project of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank. As of 2024, several other institutions have joined the project (such as the Centre of Registers and Information Systems, the Environmental Board etc.). The first stage is reducing enterprises’ burden in the
