Statistics Estonia to start negotiations on resuming mobility analysis

According to the guidelines of the Government of the Republic, Statistics Estonia is starting negotiations with mobile network operators to resume mobility analysis that was conducted last spring. The goal of the planned mobility analysis is to help evaluate the impact of adopted measures on the movement of people, direct communication and surveillance resources in Estonian regions and assess change in the risk of infection. Statistics Estonia used the same methodology for conducting mobility analysis during the emergency situation in spring 2020.
Agricultural production in Estonia increased again last year

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, 847,800 tonnes of milk and 79,900 tonnes of meat were produced in 2020. This is, respectively, 3% and 5% more than the year before. The utilised agricultural area without kitchen gardens increased by 3,000 hectares and totalled 983,000 hectares.

Statistics Estonia uses about 100 questionnaires to collect data for indicators about Estonian economy and society. The goal of data-based reporting is to provide enterprises and other organisations with the option of automatic data submission – directly from accounting software. This way, the burden for respondents is minimised!

Museums continue to be popular in Estonia. According to Statistics Estonia, there were 3.5 million museum visits in 2016, which is 6% more than the year before.
In March, the number of accommodated tourists dropped by more than a half

According to Statistics Estonia, 90,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in March. Their total number of nights spent was 177,000. The number of tourists decreased by 62%.
