Production of full-length films hit record in Estonia last year

According to Statistics Estonia, 46 full-length films were released in 2012 when Estonian film celebrated its 100th birthday. 13 of these were full-length feature films and 33 were full-length documentaries.

The places where people live have been recorded in one way or another for centuries. Previously, the place of registration could have been a church, municipality government, city address board, housing board or the Population Register. In recent decades, developed countries have found that register data are usually more accurate than survey data, and so population censuses have also begun to use them. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2017, compared to November 2016, the turnover of retail trade enterprises decreased 1% at constant prices. The decrease in turnover was affected the most by enterprises engaged in the retail sales of automotive fuel.

Today, on 3 December, Statistics Estonia presents the publication “Eesti rahvastik. Hinnatud ja loendatud” (“Population of Estonia. Estimated and enumerated”), which summarises the results of the last population census and provides comparisons with other countries of the European Union.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. The average hourly gross wages and salaries were 8.22 euros, which is 9% more than in the same quarter of 2018.
