According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, the average monthly gross income per employee was 1,380 euros, which is 63 euros more than in 2019. Income was highest in Harju county (1,541 euros) and lowest in Ida-Viru county (1,088 euros).

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 4.9% compared to 2016. In the 4th quarter of 2017, the Estonian economy grew by 5.0% compared to the 4th quarter of 2016.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.7% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month of 2022. Output declined in two of the three main sectors: by 31.5% in electricity production and by 13.1% in manufacturing. In mining, output increased by 36.3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served over 293,000 tourists in May 2024, which is 11% more than in May last year. There were more domestic as well as foreign tourists accommodated.

Piret Pukk, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that while Estonian residents have been travelling more in the post-pandemic years, they did less travelling in 2025. “Last year, the number of overnight domestic trips was still more than two times bigger than the number of outbound trips. Compared with 2024, the number of domestic trips decreased in each quarter. The number of outbound trips declined for three quarters and then started to rise again in the fourth quarter,” said Pukk, adding that this can be explained by the significant increase in charter flights, as shown by the data

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 225,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2024, which is 1% more than in February last year. The number of domestic tourists decreased a little, while the number of foreign tourists increased.

Riin Kadarik, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that manufacturing production, which had increased for three months, started to decrease in February. “This was influenced by the decline in production volume in the manufacture of food products and electrical equipment, down by 5.3% and 9.5%, respectively.
