According to Statistics Estonia, in August, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.8 billion euros. Compared with the same month in 2022, exports of goods decreased by 22% and imports by 19% at current prices. The trade deficit in in August was 293 million euros, which is 7 million euros less than a year earlier.

Today, on 17 October, Statistics Estonia and Enterprise Estonia launch the second stage of the Foreign Visitors Survey that started at the border crossing points of Estonia in the summer. The second stage will last until the middle of December.

Today, on 9 March, Statistics Estonia launches the Household Budget Survey of 2015, which collects data from households on their everyday expenditure and consumption. The previous survey was conducted in 2012.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. The rise in exports was influenced by an even larger increase in re-exports, which rose by 27% year on year. This was mainly due to an increase in the re-exports of transport equipment,” Leppmets noted. According to Statistics Estonia, the first stage of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), when the people can enumerate themselves on the web, will end on Sunday. Since 5 March the enumerators of Statistics Estonia will be visiting those inhabitants of the regions of the pilot Census who did not participate in e-census or who did not complete the questionnaire.

Statistics Estonia has organised public procurement for the purchase of 2,332 laptops which are going to be used in the conduct of the Population and Housing Census starting in December this year. After the end of the Population and Housing Census, the procured laptops will be used by various state agencies.

By the afternoon of Tuesday, 3 January, 102,620 persons had been enumerated online. This represents more than 8% of all Estonian residents. Participation rates have been the highest in Harju and Tartu counties.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the midnight of 31 March the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) came to an end, in the course of which, according to preliminary data, a total of 12,531 persons were enumerated.
