Today, on 6 July a meeting was held between Statistics Estonia and respondents where the main topics were the importance of data collected for producing official statistics, steps taken to reduce the administrative burden of enterprises, and penalty payments.

The focus of the global goal “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” is people’s overall security. Mainly attention is paid to regions of military conflict, but the goal is to increase security everywhere. The 2030 Agenda targets emphasise the need to reduce violence and the number of related deaths, especially among children. Child abuse and exploitation, trafficking in children, violence against and torture of children must be ended. The activities of countries must be based on the rule of law. In 2018, rapid economic growth continued in Estonia

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 3.9% compared to 2017. For the third consecutive year the economic growth in Estonia was faster than 3%. In the 4th quarter of 2018, the Estonian economy increased by 4.2% compared to the 4th quarter of 2017.

In the fourth quarter, the economy contracted by 1.2%

According to Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 1.2% year on year, and the GDP at current prices was 7.3 billion euros. In 2020 as a whole, the Estonian economy shrank by 2.9%.
