Museums continue to be popular in Estonia

Producer price index of industrial output fell by 1.9% year on year

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, fell by 0.4% in June 2023 compared with May and by 1.9% compared with June last year.

Gender-based information and earnings projections added to Statistics Estonia’s application

The earnings application, first published more than a year ago, was upgraded by Statistics Estonia together with the Commissioner for Equal Opportunities, University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology and the Social Insurance Board. More occupational groups, comparison of males’ and females’ monthly earnings, and earnings and pension projections were added to the application.

1,366,491 people – Estonia's population grew due to immigration, the number of births fell

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2024, the population of Estonia was 1,366,491, which is 607 persons more than at the same time a year ago. In 2023, there were 10,721 births and 15,832 deaths in Estonia. Based on the data on registered migration, 20,209 persons immigrated to Estonia and 14,491 persons emigrated from Estonia. Compared with a year earlier, the number of births, deaths and immigrants has fallen, while the number of emigrants has risen.

Changes to the questionnaire Wages and salaries and labour force (1462)

From 2023 onwards, there will be changes to the questionnaire “Wages and salaries and labour force” (1462). The changes are related to the increased use of register data in the production of wage statistics. The data collected with the questionnaire will be used to produce labour cost indices and job vacancy statistics. Previously (until the end of 2022), this questionnaire was also used to collect data for average wage statistics. Secure data interoperability Statistics Estonia received 1,099,300 euros via the innovation fund for the project “Secure data interoperability between sectors”.
