The main task of Statistics Estonia is to provide reliable and objective information about Estonia. In order to do that, Statistics Estonia collects data from databases, enterprises and individuals. For nearly half of the questionnaires, we use data from databases, but in order to produce statistics, we also need information that is not available there. Since 1996 the Statistical Office conducts reputation surveys and user surveys. The survey is conducted at least once a year, the existing as well as potential consumers are interviewed. The aims of user surveys are: to find out the reputation of the Statistical Office among consumers, to find out the need for statistical information, to study the consumers’ preferences in using various statistical products, to get the necessary information for production development. Main events in the history of Estonian statistics 2024 Statistics Estonia focuses on reducing the administrative burden to save time for respondents. As a result , Estonia becomes the first EU country where enterprises engaged in foreign trade no longer have to report arrivals data, which decreases the reporting burden by a third, on average.
