According to Statistics Estonia, in October, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 5.8% at constant prices compared with October 2021. Output fell in all three sectors – by 4.4% in electricity production, by 6.1% in manufacturing, and by 0.4% in mining.

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that, as in the first half of the year, when the volume of manufacturing declined by 6%, the fall continued at the same rate in August. “Also, as in the previous months, the volume of industrial production was down in two thirds of the manufacturing activities,” Bunder added. According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises fell by 5.7% compared with March last year. Among the three main sectors, output increased slightly in mining (by 0.4%), but decreased by 6.5% in manufacturing and by 4.4% in electricity production.
