According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 24,907 permanent residents of Estonia – 4.4% of all employed persons – go to work abroad. 28,984 residents work outside their county of residence.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2018, the exports of goods increased by 27% and imports by 18% compared to July 2017. Statistics Estonia announces yet again the competition for the young statistician’s grant named after Albert Pullerits.
