Construction volumes stayed on the level of the previous year in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2013 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries grew 0.4%. In Estonia the construction activities increased 4%, but in foreign countries the construction volumes decreased nearly by a third.

Crop farming survey

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board and data on units that fill in the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and missing data are collected from respondents with the survey. According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.2%, the employment rate was 65.2% and the labour force participation rate was 69.4% in 2015. The unemployment level was significantly lower and the employment rate and labour force participation rate higher than in 2014. Compared to 2014, labour market indicators improved thanks to the results of the first three quarters, whereas in the 4th quarter the situation changed.

In July, retail trade turnover remained at last year’s level

According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 919 million euros. Compared with July 2021, turnover remained at a similar level at constant prices.

Population and Housing Census will tell how sick Estonian people think they are

In the Population and Housing Census, which starts at the end of the year, among else, people will be able to give an assessment of their health. Health questions in the same wording were also included in the census ten years ago, which is why the results will provide an overview of Estonian people’s health and how it has changed in a decade.
