Gender pay gap refers to the difference between the average gross hourly wages and salaries of male and female employees by economic activity at the letter code level. Part-time employees' earnings are also taken into account when comparing gross hourly wages and salaries. Hourly wages and salaries are used to calculate the gender pay gap on the basis of a pan-European methodology. According to Statistics Estonia, the data from the innovation survey show that 48% of enterprises covered with the survey were technologically innovative in 2008 and 35% of them had implemented during the last three years organisational or marketing innovation. For a quarter of enterprises the innovativeness resulted in environmental benefits either within enterprise or for customer.

According to Statistics Estonia, the pilot Census of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (REL 2011) will take place in nine local governments of Estonia from 31 December until 31 March. According to Statistics Estonia, the data of the Innovation Survey show that 56.8% of enterprises were innovative in 2010. The innovativeness of enterprises remained on the level of 2008, when the innovative enterprises accounted for 56.4%.
