The highest museum attendance was seen in Saare and Lääne counties, where there were respectively 4.1 and 3.9 museum visits per person. In Tallinn, the city with the most museums, the average number of visits per person stood at 2.9. According to Statistics Estonia’s Tourism Survey*, Estonian residents made more trips in the first half of 2023 than in the same period of 2022. Finland and Latvia are the most popular destinations, and many trips are also made to Italy and Turkey.

According to Statistics Estonia, more than 222,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in November 2023, which is 1% less than in November 2022 and 11% less than in October 2023. Year on year, accommodation establishments hosted fewer foreign as well as domestic tourists.
