The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.3% in April 2024 compared with March and decreased by 2.9% compared with April last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2024, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 5% and imports by 1% compared with July 2023. Exports of goods amounted to over €1.3 billion and imports to nearly €1.7 billion at current prices. The trade deficit was €321 million, which is €59 million less than in July last year.

Jane Leppmets, a foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that growth in foreign trade in services was most affected by travel services and other business services. “In the third quarter, exports of services to EU countries increased by 8% and imports from EU countries by 4%. Extra-EU exports of services were also up by 8%, however, extra-EU imports were down by 4%. In trade with non-EU countries, exports declined by 10% while imports grew by 16%. The trade deficit in February was 426 million euros, which is 132 million euros more than in the same month of the previous year.
