According to Statistics Estonia, 14,822 persons immigrated to and 13,792 persons emigrated from Estonia in 2016. Immigration exceeded emigration for the second year. Most of the migrants were Estonian citizens, but their net migration was negative.

Of those staying in accommodation establishments, by country of residence, the number of Estonian residents increased the most, and of foreign tourists, more tourists arrived from Russia and Latvia. The total number of domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in accommodation establishments set a new record already for the eighth consecutive year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 780 million euros. Compared to June 2020, turnover increased by 12% at constant prices.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2011 exports grew by 71% and imports by 45% compared to the same month of the previous year. For the first time, the total turnover of monthly trade exceeded two billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October this year compared to October of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 47% and imports by 38% at current prices. Exports to Sweden increased 2.2 times, mainly influenced by the increase in dispatches of machinery and equipment.
