According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 71.8%, the employment rate was 66.3%, and the unemployment rate was 7.7%. There were 54,300 unemployed persons, which is 4,900 more than in the second quarter of the year.

Employment increased compared to the 1st quarter, but decreased compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This shows that Estonia is gradually facing the consequences of declining labour force.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter, the unemployment rate was 3.9%, the labour force participation rate was 71.9% and the employment rate was 69%. The estimated number of employed persons was 677,300, which is 10,700 more than in the same quarter of the previous year. The number of long-term unemployed also declined.
