Changes to the questionnaire Wages and salaries and labour force (1462)

From 2023 onwards, there will be changes to the questionnaire “Wages and salaries and labour force” (1462). The changes are related to the increased use of register data in the production of wage statistics. The data collected with the questionnaire will be used to produce labour cost indices and job vacancy statistics. Previously (until the end of 2022), this questionnaire was also used to collect data for average wage statistics. In February 2021, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 1.0% compared to January and by 4.1% compared to February 2020.

2019 was a favourable year for crop farmers, resulting in record total production as well as production per hectare. According to Statistics Estonia, the total production of cereals was 1,625,000 tonnes. The total production of potatoes was 120,500 tonnes, which is the largest in the last six years. The production of open-field vegetables was 77,000 tonnes.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2022, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 1.4% year on year at constant prices. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the construction volume fell by 1.8%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2023, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 5% at constant prices compared with the third quarter of 2022. Considering only the domestic market, the fall in construction volume was 7%.

In 2021, there were 25 full-length films produced in Estonia, including 14 feature films and 11 documentaries. 103 short films were produced: 46 documentaries, 45 feature films, and 12 animations. 299 films were shown on cinema screens, which is 69 fewer than in 2020.
