According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2021, there were 9,443 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This means a 10% increase year on year. More than 7,000 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2015, the total profit of the business sector was 650 million euros, which was 9% less than in the same period a year ago.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2020, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 630 million euros. Compared to March of the previous year, turnover increased by 4% at constant prices.

The analyst noted that while the unemployment rate in the second quarter (7.8%) was slightly higher than in last year’s second quarter (7.6%), it was 0.8 percentage points lower than in the first quarter of 2025. “The unemployment rate for men (8.4%) was higher than that for women (7.2%). There were a total of 59,200 unemployed persons in the second quarter, which is 5,000 fewer than in the previous quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, there were approximately 11,400 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2018, the number of job vacancies increased by 8%. However, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017, the number of job vacancies decreased by 5%. The number of job vacancies has exceeded 10,000 since the 1st quarter of 2017.
