Today, Statistics Estonia met with technology experts and analysts to present the technical solution of the Register-based Population and Housing Census and its opportunities.
In 2017, the social protection field was mostly characterised by growth trends: the average old-age pension exceeded 400 euros, labour market measures are being used more and there is a greater variety of them, the expenditure on family allowances increased and new allowances for large families were added. The number of old-age pensioners and subsistence benefit recipients has declined.
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2015, 251,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments which is 5% more than in October 2014. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists increased.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 3.9% compared to 2017. For the third consecutive year the economic growth in Estonia was faster than 3%. In the 4th quarter of 2018, the Estonian economy increased by 4.2% compared to the 4th quarter of 2017.
According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the construction price index in the 3rd quarter of 2019 was 0.4% compared to the previous quarter and 2.1% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2018.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, the average monthly gross income per employee was 1,073 euros. The growth of gross income continued at the same rate as in previous years (6%), however, the number of people receiving income started to decrease for the first time since the years of the economic crisis.
Today, Statistics Estonia and the Government Office presented a new web application called the Tree of Truth. It is a gauge of important national indicators, giving a simple, honest and objective picture of how the country is doing.
According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in January 2020 was –0.4% compared to December 2019 and 1.6% compared to January 2019.
According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in August 2019 was 0.7% compared to July 2019 and 2.4% compared to August of the previous year.
