According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the gross domestic product (GDP), which shows how the Estonian economy is doing, grew by 8.6% compared to the same period of 2020. The GDP at current prices was 8.7 billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 2 million tourists, whose nights spent totalled 3.7 million. The number of visitors fell by 48% compared to 2019.
Statistics Estonia and mobile network operators restart mobility analysis

Statistics Estonia concluded agreements with Telia, Tele2 and Elisa to restart mobility analysis. The goal of the planned mobility analysis is to help the government evaluate the impact of the adopted COVID-19 countermeasures on the movement of people, assess change in the risk of infection and effectively plan communication in Estonian regions. Mobility will be analysed using the same methodology as in last spring.
In June, the number of tourists was bigger than last year but still two times smaller than before the crisis

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 216,000 tourists, which is almost a third more than in June last year. There were more domestic tourists and fewer foreign tourists, but the total number of accommodated guests was significantly lower than in 2019 before the coronavirus crisis.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, life expectancy at birth was 77.2 years in Estonia. Male life expectancy was 72.8 years and female life expectancy was 81.4 years. Life expectancy has decreased for both men and women. Men can expect to live disability-free for 54.9 years and women for 58 years.
In June, industrial production was slightly smaller than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2019, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 4% compared to June 2018. Production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in energy as well as in mining.
