169,300 foreign and 134,900 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in May. 278,000 foreign and approximately 224,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in July. “As in July last year, we had more foreign tourists (55%) than domestic tourists (45%) accommodated in this year’s July,” said Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia. According to Statistics Estonia's survey on information technology, the use of artificial intelligence-based technologies has risen significantly in 2024 compared with the previous year, and cyber security has become increasingly important. 5% of enterprises used at least one AI technology in 2023, whereas in 2024, this figure has risen to 14%. Of large enterprises, 10% said they had experienced a disclosure of confidential data.

The number of foreign tourists has shown considerable growth over the last year but has not yet fully recovered from the slump a few years ago. “Compared with April 2024, the number of foreign tourists increased by 16%. Year on year, the number of domestic tourists fell, as it did in several months in 2024.
