According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2012, exports from Estonia amounted to 1.1 billion euros and imports to Estonia to 1.3 billion euros at current prices. Both, the turnover of exports as well as imports, were record high, at the same time the trade deficit increased.

According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased by 3.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter in the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2012, 220,000 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 3% more than in October of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2012, the net sales, costs and total profit of the business sector increased compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same quarter of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the ratio of research and development expenditures to the gross domestic product rose upon a novel level – 2.41%, surpassing for the first time the EU mean of 2.03%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2012 compared to October of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. In September the retail sales increased 7% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in October the retail sales growth decelerated slightly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2012, the production of industrial enterprises did not change compared to October of the previous year. The production of energy and mining increased, while the production of manufacturing decreased slightly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises grew 15%.
