According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the surplus in trade was registered in February, when exports of goods exceeded imports by 0.2 billion kroons. The surplus was last registered in trade in June 1993.

According to Statistics Estonia, in Viimsi rural municipality and Saue city, only 6% of residents lived in relative poverty in 2011, while the share of the relatively poor was over 40% in Kallaste city and in Alatskivi and Peipsiääre rural municipalities. According to adjusted data of Statistics Estonia, the Estonian general government sector deficit in 2008 was 2.7% and gross debt level was 4.6% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). General government budget’s deficit remained within the limits set out in the Maastricht Treaty.
