“Looking at the wage change trend, wage growth is still slower now than in 2023,” said Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia. Average wages in seven groups of economic activities are higher than the national average Saagpakk stated that the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the third quarter of 2024 were the highest in information and communication (€3,506), financial and insurance activities (€3,068), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (€2,540). Data from Statistics Estonia show that the most popular online services used by the population in Estonia are banking and email. Compared with 2023, the number of social media users has increased – up by 5.7% in 2024.

According to Statistics Estonia, more than 251,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in October 2023, which is 7% less than in October last year and 8% less than in September this year. Year on year, accommodation establishments hosted fewer foreign as well as domestic tourists.
