According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased by 8.5% in the 3rd quarter of 2011 compared to the same quarter of the previous year. During the three quarters this year economic the growth has been stably robust.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2017, compared to February 2016, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 1% at constant prices. While in January, the turnover increased 2% compared to the same month of the previous year, in February the growth decelerated slightly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2017, the exports of goods increased by 14% and imports by 40% compared January 2016. The rise in exports was affected the most by an increase in the exportation of mineral products, and the rise in imports by non-recurring big-volume transactions with transport equipment.

Statistics Estonia’s mobility analysis revealed that since the emergency situation and movement restrictions were implemented, people living in Estonia stay in their main location 20 hours per day on average. The distance covered in one day as well as the number of trips has decreased. The revised analysis shows that the share of people staying in their main location has increased by 16 percentage points, which means that an estimated 200,000 more people have stayed local.
