According to Statistics Estonia, 2.3% of the population of Estonia lived in absolute poverty and 20.7% lived at risk of poverty in 2019. Compared to 2018, the share of people at risk of poverty fell by one percentage point. The share of people living in absolute poverty rose by 0.1 percentage point.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 14% and imports by 19% at current prices compared with September 2021. In the third quarter, exports were up by 16% and imports by 22%. Trade was mainly boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral products as well as by rising prices in general.

According to Statistics Estonia, 40 full-length films were released in 2013. They included 10 of full-length feature films, 27 full-length documentaries, two full length animations and one other film.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that foreign trade in services continues to grow steadily and reached a record level in 2024. “Exports of services were most affected by an increase in sales of telecommunications, computer and information services (up by €459 million) and imports by a rise in purchases of travel services (up by €134 million). According to Statistics Estonia there were 2.6 million cinema visits in 2014, which is an all-time record since the restoration of independence. In the last nine years, cinema attendance has increased each year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2014, the production of industrial enterprises fell 3% compared to March of the previous year. The production in energy and mining decreased, while the production in manufacturing increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2016 compared to October 2015, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 2% at constant prices. The deceleration in turnover growth was influenced the most by enterprises engaging in the retail sales of automotive fuel.
