In 2019, Estonian residents made 1.7 million overnight outbound trips and 3.5 million overnight domestic trips. On 30 December, Statistics Estonia starts a month-long test survey of the Population and Housing Census to check readiness for the big census. Around 2,000 persons are included in the main rehearsal of the population census.

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 222,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2023, which is 31% more than in February last year. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.
