According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2016, 86% of households in Estonia had Internet access at home. There has been an increase in the share of people having used e-commerce services more than five times in the last three months.

Statistics Estonia has announced a competition for engaging 15 district heads of the Census districts for the 2011 Population and Housing Census, which will start at the end of the year. District centres in nine cities all over Estonia will commence work in August; the deadline of applying for the post is 5 June.

Jane Leppmets, a foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that growth in foreign trade in services was most affected by travel services and other business services. “In the third quarter, exports of services to EU countries increased by 8% and imports from EU countries by 4%. Extra-EU exports of services were also up by 8%, however, extra-EU imports were down by 4%. According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2024, the dwelling price index increased by 2% compared with the fourth quarter of 2023 and by 7.8% compared with the first quarter of 2023.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 170,000 tourists, which is 70% more than in February last year. The numbers of domestic tourists and foreign tourists both increased.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the second quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 32% while imports of services fell by 5% year on year. In the second quarter of this year, Estonia’s exports of services totalled 2.5 billion euros and imports of services 1.8 billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 337,000 tourists, which is 56% more than in June last year. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists* increased.
