According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2019, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.9% compared to the 1st quarter of 2018. In the 1st quarter of 2019, the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 7.90 euros, which is 7% more than in the 1st quarter of 2018.

According to Statistics Estonia, the preliminary estimate of the population of Estonia as at 1 January 2018 was 1,318,700, which is 3,070 persons more than at the same time a year ago.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 10.2% in the 1st quarter of 2013. The unemployment decreased compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year but increased compared to the previous quarter. The unemployment of young people aged 15–24 increased more rapidly.

Construction volume decreased more than a fourth in the previous year

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 23.5 billion kroons, which is 28% less than a year earlier. According to Statistics Estonia, unemployed persons numbered 57,000 and the unemployment rate was 8.5% in the 1st quarter of 2014. The number of both the unemployed and the employed decreased. For the first time since 2010, the number of unemployed persons decreased compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
