According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 71.8%, the employment rate was 66.3%, and the unemployment rate was 7.7%. There were 54,300 unemployed persons, which is 4,900 more than in the second quarter of the year.

Briefing session on the updated Intrastat questionnaire

Foreign trade statistics are on the brink of changes. Our goal is to start reducing the administrative burden. In order to do that, we need to first introduce some changes in our existing foreign trade questionnaire INTRASTAT (dispatches and arrivals). These changes will allow the transition to SIMSTAT, i.e. single flow collection, starting from 2025. Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. Landfilling of hazardous waste affects the quality of soil, drinking water and air.
