Healthy life years (also called disability-free life expectancy) shows the average number of years an individual is expected to live free of disability if current patterns of mortality and disability continue to apply. To calculate healthy life years, Statistics Estonia uses the internationally recommended Sullivan method, which is convenient as few data are needed. According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2016 compared to April 2015, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. While in March, the turnover increased 3% compared to the same month of the previous year, then in April the growth accelerated.

While in June turnover growth accelerated to 4% compared to the same month of the previous year, in July growth decelerated and sales continued to grow at one percent similarly to April and May.

Of the three main industrial sectors, production increased by 7.3% in mining and by 5.4% in energy production but decreased by 2.7% in manufacturing.
