Statistics Estonia gave Eesti Energia AS the title of Best Respondent, the Ministry of the Interior the title of Statistics-Friendly Database Partner and Tõnu Kollo from the University of Tartu the title of Statistics-Friendly Research Partner of 2016.

Today, on 17 March, the Government of the Republic approved the list of statistical actions for the years 2016–2020. In 2016, Statistics Estonia will organise 158 statistical actions, the cost of which is estimated at a total of 6.5 million euros.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. The rise in exports was influenced by an even larger increase in re-exports, which rose by 27% year on year. This was mainly due to an increase in the re-exports of transport equipment,” Leppmets noted. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2014, the total profit of the business sector was 859 million euros, 7% less than the same time a year ago.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, aquaculture enterprises sold 868 tonnes of commercial fish and crayfish, with a total value of 3.7 million euros. The volume of aquaculture production sold in 2016 was among the highest in 20 years.
