According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 1.9% year on year. The GDP at current prices was 7 billion euros. Transportation and storage and manufacturing activities were the main contributors to the economic decline.

The number of Finnish tourists tripled in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 226,000 tourists, which is 35% more than in November 2021. There was a rise in the number of both foreign* and domestic tourists.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2020, the production of industrial enterprises decreased by 6% compared to June 2019. Production decreased in manufacturing and mining, while energy production increased owing to last year’s low comparison basis.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2021, the population of Estonia was 1,329,460 persons, which is 480 persons more than at the same time a year ago. Population decreased by 2,590 persons due to negative natural increase and increased by 3,070 persons as a result of positive net migration.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2020, the production of industrial enterprises remained at the level of February 2019. Of the three sectors of industry, production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in energy and mining.

1,366,491 people – Estonia's population grew due to immigration, the number of births fell

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2024, the population of Estonia was 1,366,491, which is 607 persons more than at the same time a year ago. In 2023, there were 10,721 births and 15,832 deaths in Estonia. Based on the data on registered migration, 20,209 persons immigrated to Estonia and 14,491 persons emigrated from Estonia. Compared with a year earlier, the number of births, deaths and immigrants has fallen, while the number of emigrants has risen.

The focus of the global goal “Quality Education” is accessibility of quality education and opportunities to participate in lifelong learning. Going to school, levels of education, teachers’ education, educational institutions’ compliance with requirements (incl. sanitary) and differences in study results are observed together. The 2030 Agenda sets the target to ensure free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education for all. Before school, small children require early childhood development so that they would be ready to enter primary education. The number of youths and adults with
