According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries increased 21%. Taking into account only Estonian construction market, construction volume increased 29%.

This increase was supported by the greater exports of mineral products of Estonian origin, including shale oil,” explained Leppmets. “Re-exports, i.e. the exports of previously imported goods, declined by 7% in July year on year, mainly due to the decreased re-exports of mineral fuels,” she

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2013 compared to July of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. In June the retail sales increased 3% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in July the retail sales’ growth accelerated to some extent.

According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2015 compared to December 2014, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 10% at constant prices. While in November, the retail sales increased 6% compared to the same month of the previous year, in December the retail sales growth accelerated.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade statistics analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in August, imports were boosted the most by the increased arrivals of mineral products. “Year on year, imports of mineral products grew by 30% overall, whereas imports of automotive fuel grew by as much as 67%. This was mainly influenced by the rising prices of petroleum on the global market,” added Leppmets.
