According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2011 the total profit of the business sector was 2.8 billion euros, which is 40% more than the year before. The enterprises last earned a similar total profit in 2006 and 2008.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2017, the exports and imports of goods increased both by 11% compared to October 2016. This year Finland has been the most important trade partner for Estonia. In October, exports to Finland increased by 18% and imports from Finland by 15%.

The construction price index fell in the 1st quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index fell 0.7% at constant prices in the first quarter of 2016 compared to both the 4th and the 1st quarter of 2015.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2010, the net sales, costs and total profit of the business sector increased compared to the previous quarter as well as to the same quarter of the previous year.

In the 3rd quarter the number of job vacancies increased

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 8,600 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Compared to the same period of the previous year their number increased by 12.3%, and compared to the previous quarter by 12.7%.

Population census. Young people have more health problems than 10 years ago

According to the 2021 census, an estimated one third of the population have a long-term illness or health problem. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census in 2011. 28% of the population are limited in their daily activities because of a health problem.

Large enterprises account for a growing share of agricultural production in Estonia

According to the preliminary data of the Agricultural Census conducted by Statistics Estonia, there are 11,400 agricultural holdings in Estonia, which is 3,800 fewer than ten years ago. 84% of the agricultural output is contributed by 1,300 largest producers who use more than two thirds of the utilised agricultural area and account for more than a half of agricultural labour.
