Life expectancy in Estonia is 79.5 years

“In 1994, the life expectancy of Estonian residents was 66.5 years, whereas by 2024 it had increased by 13 years and reached 79.5 years. In both Latvia and Lithuania, life expectancy has increased by about nine years in the same 30-year period. Life expectancy is currently 77.6 years in Lithuania and 75.6 years in Latvia,” explained Eveli Voolens, the social statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia. Estonia’s net migration was positive in 2016

According to Statistics Estonia, 14,822 persons immigrated to and 13,792 persons emigrated from Estonia in 2016. Immigration exceeded emigration for the second year. Most of the migrants were Estonian citizens, but their net migration was negative.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2022, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 3% year on year at constant prices. Considering only the domestic market, the construction volume fell by 4%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2014, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 4.8% compared to the 4th quarter of 2013 and by 17.5% compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year.

Changes to the questionnaire Wages and salaries and labour force (1462)

From 2023 onwards, there will be changes to the questionnaire “Wages and salaries and labour force” (1462). The changes are related to the increased use of register data in the production of wage statistics.
