How to calculate the change in the consumer price index?

The change in the consumer price index is shown in the statistical database table IA021: CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, CHANGE (MONTHS) (change on previous month, change on same month of previous year).

The change in the consumer price index over a given period can be calculated on the basis of data in the table IA02: CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, 1997 = 100 (MONTHS).
