According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2014 compared to September of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2014, the production of industrial enterprises rose 4% compared to September of the previous year. The production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in mining and energy.

Today, on 21 October, the Director General of Statistics Estonia Mr Andres Oopkaup presented Ms Kairiin Kütt with the Albert Pullerits young statistician’s grant.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2014, the construction price index changed 0.3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2014 and -0.2% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2013.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2014, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.2% compared to August 2014 and by -2.0% compared to September 2013.

According to the final results of the 2013 Farm Structure Survey, there were 19,200 agricultural holdings in Estonia, of which nearly 1,000 largest ones produce more than three-quarters of standard output, announces Statistics Estonia. At the same time, there are 4,500 agricultural holdings which do not produce agricultural products but only maintain their lands in good agricultural and environmental condition.

According to Statistics Estonia, 379,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in August, which was 2% less than in August of the previous year. The number of foreign tourists decreased and the number of domestic tourists increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2014, exports of goods decreased by 3% and imports by 6% at current prices compared to August of the previous year. The decrease in exports and imports was mostly influenced by the trade of mechanical appliances, electrical equipment and agricultural products and food preparations.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in September 2014 was -0.2% compared to August 2014 and -0.6% compared to September of the previous year.

In July, the retail sales increased 9% compared to the same month of the previous year, whereas in August the retail sales growth decelerated a little.
