According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served over 192,000 tourists, which is 276% more than in March last year. The numbers of domestic tourists and foreign tourists* both increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, over 196,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in January 2023, which is 24% more than in the same month a year earlier. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.

Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 108,000 foreign and 109,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in March 2025. “The number of foreign tourists was 7% lower than in March last year and it was also smaller compared with March 2019 (down by 13%),” explained Laurmaa. Similarly to the earlier months of this year, accommodation establishments served more domestic than foreign tourists in March. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2022, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 226,000 tourists, which is 35% more than in November 2021. There was a rise in the number of both foreign* and domestic tourists.

The Cultural Participation Survey conducted by Statistics Estonia reveals that over half a million people in Estonia went to the cinema at least once last year. Almost the same number of people attended a concert. Overall, 79% of residents aged 15 and over participated in a cultural event in 2023.
